Taito City formulated its Healthy Taito 21 Promotion Plan (II-2H) in 2017. The basic concept was to create a mutually supportive community where everyone could live safe, healthy, and energetic lives through the promotion of lifelong public health initiatives. We took steps to raise awareness about diet and exercise to help prevent lifestyle diseases while encouraging people to be better about getting regular health checkups so that any symptoms were detected and treated early.
One of our exercises initiatives was to create a city walking map to make it easy for people to get out and exercise in their neighborhoods and hopefully make it a habit. We also worked with city residents to implement walking projects with Taito City health ambassadors and promote good health for everyone.

We created the Taito Walking Map featuring courses around the city to help people take charge of their health by starting with something as easy as taking a stroll. The maps were distributed at various places around the city, including at City Hall (at the first-floor general information desk as well as at the Health Section on the third and fourth floors), on the second floor of the Taito Public Health Center, at residents’ offices and community centers around the city, and at the Lifelong Learning Center.
