The city of Kokubunji formulated the Kokubunji City Health Promotion Plan in FY2015 and aims to create links to healthy living and improved quality of life for every resident through efforts with the mutual support of individuals, the community, and government.
The plan lists “increasing the time spent walking each day” as a target for physical activity and exercise, and in order to support everyone to work on doing exercise with ease, the city has created a walking map and is also holding health seminars (exercise seminars) that make use of the map.

Holding Walking Seminars | |
---|---|
Walking seminars are held for people living, working, studying, and active in the city, dividing the target audience into those under 65 and those 65 and older. The seminars are presented by a health and fitness programmer, with contents that can easily be put into practice in everyday life to prevent lifestyle diseases and improve health, such as practical skills incorporated into the seminars, in addition to lectures to teach correct walking knowledge and form. Innovated to enable people who are at the peak of their careers or raising children to participate easily, such as by holding lectures on Saturdays and providing a childcare service during walking lectures targeting those under 65. ■Results for FY2022
